MREA Draws Raffle Winners, Owner of Waupaca Business Wins!

CUSTER, WI – January 18, 2013 – On December 21, 2012 the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) finished up their annual membership drive and raffle. Prizes included a 2kW solar electric system (based on the Milwaukee Power Pack initiative) and a two-night stay at Inn Serendipity. Anyone who joined as a member of the MREA automatically was granted one entry into the raffle and both non-members and members had the chance to purchase tickets

The Winter Solstice proved to be an exciting day for MREA staff as memberships and raffle tickets came flying in for last minute entries. MREA Events Coordinator, Ellie Jackson, pulled two lucky names, Jeff Knutson of Winneconne, WI, winner of the 2kW Milwaukee Power Pack installation and Lisa Albrecht of Iola, WI, winner of the two-night stay at Inn Serendipity.

Knutson, owner of A-A Exteriors.com Inc. and Accurate-Airtight Exteriors (both based in Waupaca, WI) was to receive the 2kW solar panels from Helios (Milwaukee, WI) and an inverter from Ingeteam (Milwaukee, WI) but graciously decided that he’d like to donate the system to a non-profit to be announced sometime in the near future. MREA staff and Board of Directors will perform the installation, and Werner Electric will provide the balance of systems. This system will save the recipient non-profit roughly $21,000 in energy savings over the next 30 years.

MREA would like to thank everyone who contributed to their membership drive! Over 400 people participated in the membership drive and together raised $36,982.50! If you didn’t have the opportunity to become a member but would still like to, call MREA at 715-592-6595 or visit www.midwestrenew.org.
