Merle Ruth Fischer, age 92 of Waupaca, passed away on Sunday, January 27th, 2013 at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI.
Merle was born on September 10, 1920, to Martin and Alma (Johnson) Christensen in Oconto, WI. She worked in Milwaukee for 7 years as the office manager for Teledyne Wisconsin Motors. Merle married Lester Fischer on September 7, 1946 in Milwaukee. She enjoyed skating, sewing, dancing, camping, fishing, traveling and crafting.
Merle is survived by her daughters, Sharon Scheid, Manawa, WI; Ruth (Dave) Ohms, Spokane, WA; grandchildren: Leslie (Mike) Stamborski, New London, WI; Renee (Brent) Moodie, Mosinee, WI; Julie (Corey) Kalbaugh, NC; Christopher Ohms, ID; Allison Ohms, Germany; great-grandchildren: Caleb, Hannah, Andrew, Jadon, Stephen, and Ethan. Merle is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; sisters: Esther Stollenwerk, Carol LaViolette, Janet LeMense; brothers, Gordon Christensen, Norbert Christensen, and son-in-law, Bill Scheid.
Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, February 4th at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Pastor Roger Nielson will officiate.
