Students attend FFA Farm Forum

Members of the Weyauwega-Fremont FFA were among the high school juniors who attended the FFA Farm Forum.

Liz Hillskotter and Taylor Miller attended the forum Feb. 15-16, in Wisconsin Rapids. The event was sponsored by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau.

“The Farm Bureau is proud to host this special event with the FFA to help grow the next crop of agricultural leaders in Wisconsin,” said Casey Langan, spokesman for the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.

During the two-day event, FFA members attended workshops which covered such topics as post-high school agricultural opportunities, current legislative issues and misconceptions about agriculture, biotechnology and animal genetics.

Speakers at the Forum included Jim Holte, Wisconsin Farm Bureau President; Tim Clark, Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Young Farmer and Agriculturist Committee chair-elect; and Rochelle Ripp, Wisconsin’s 65th Alice in Dairyland.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation sponsored the FFA Farm Forum in cooperation with the Wisconsin Association of FFA.

This year’s FFA Farm Forum marked the 41st year the Farm Bureau family of affiliates sponsored the event for Wisconsin youth.
