The Wolf River Art League held the 2013 Mid-Winter Exhibit this past weekend at New London High School.
Judge Jeff Hargreaves chose winners in the different media categories.
He looked for craftsmanship in the art work and the observation to detail. He spent a long time talking to individual artists about their work and how to improve it.
The exhibit, bottomless soup bowl and art market was enjoyed by a huge crowd after a hard start with the delivery of art work in the middle of a snowstorm. Many hearty artists from the area made the trek.
Becca Mulenburg, a native of New London who now lives in Port Washington, won People’s Choice award. The art viewers to the show voted for their favorite artist. She won the honor along with a monetary prize. Her studio is at the Art Mill, in Grafton. She had a one-woman show at Mosquito Hill last year.
