An open pit iron ore mine will not only obliterate the ecologically sensitive Penokee Hills but it will poison and pollute the surrounding watershed with toxic heavy metals.
The majority of jobs created will not be filled by those living in the surrounding communities as they do not have the specialized training or job experience required by the modern mining industry.
After the ore is shipped off to China to help build their infrastructure and thriving industrial economy, Wisconsin will eventually be left with another superfund sight funded by the American taxpayer. Sounds like a plan.
