Pheasant hunting at CTO

Challenge The Outdoors held its Spring Pheasant Hunt on Sunday, March 10, at J&H Game Farm.

The rain was variable but penetrating, the fog was white just like the snow, and the ice was challenging. But some avid hunters braved the weather to shoot their pheasants and take home a few birds for a delicious dinner or two.

The event helpers were just as excited to help those that love the sport. They were the backup shooters in case the bird went the wrong way.

The birds were alert and just wanted to get out of the rain. Almost all took off flying and didn’t do too much running; thank heaven.

The dog did a great job finding the birds and brought them back to the hunters. He never complained and was anxious to help all the more.

After everyone got back to the warmth of the club house, with a fire crackling, they dried off a bit.

J&H Game Farm put out a hot meal that warmed the inside, too. Diane and Joanne and all the helpers did a great job making the day special. Anyone who is disabled and would like to get a chance to hunt or fish with great helpers, email [email protected] and check out the information and pictures on the website at www.ctoforme.org.
