Kid’s Bike Rodeo planned in Manawa

The Kid’s Bike Rodeo will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 18, at the Manawa Masonic Lodge.

Manawa police officers will be on-hand to cover bike safety and on-site bike obstacle courses, with bike safety inspections conducted by Little Wolf Auto.

There will be free give-away bicycle accessories to early birds.

All children up to age 14 are invited to attend. They must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The SRTS Program improves walking and biking travel options, and promotes healthier lifestyles in children at an early age.

Under the SRTS Program, the Kid’s Bike Rodeo is also preparation for the Manawa Elementary School’s Bike/Walk to School Week commencing May 20. Parents having questions about bike/pedestrian week may call 920-596-5700.

The event is sponsored by the Manawa Police Department and the Manawa Masonic Lodge, and held in collaboration with the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program in partnership with East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, Waupaca County UW-Extension, and the Manawa School District.

The Manawa Masonic Lodge is located at 520 N. Bridge Street, at the corner of State Highway 22 and Progress Road.
