Lady Bulldogs top Mustangs 9-3 at Regional

The New London varsity softball team earned a 9-3 win over the Little Chute Mustangs on Thursday, May 23, in Regional playoff action.

New London jumped out to a 9-0 lead after three innings and the Mustangs couldn’t catch up. Little Chute scored three runs in the sixth inning, but that was the end of the scoring.

Alanna Beyer was 3×4, Shelby Sommer was 2×3 with 2 RBI, Emily Wilfuer was 1×3 with 1 RBI, Natalie Kurth was 1×4, McKenna Quinter had 1 RBI, Morgan Gorges was 2×2 with 1 RBI, Abby Elsholtz was 2×3 with 2 RBI, and Kansas Walbruck had 1 RBI.

The Bulldog offense cranked out 11 hits in 29 at bats for a team batting average of .379.

Shelby Sommer pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and three runs with one walk and seven strikeouts.

The Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to play Adams-Friendship on Tuesday, May 28, at Little Chute. The sectional matchup features the top-ranked Lady Bulldogs facing the second-seeded Adams-Friendship Green Devils.
