Waupaca Fine Arts Festival celebrates 50 years

The Waupaca Fine Arts Festival is celebrating 50 years of music, art and theater in the community with a party.

The reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Waupaca Country Club, 1330 Ware St.

It will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine. Entertainment will be provided.

The cost is $15 per person, and payment must accompany reservations.

Reservations are due by Friday, June 21.

Those who did not receive an initial invitation and want to attend may send a check with a note about the number of people planning to attend the celebration to: Fine Arts Festival, P.O. 55, Waupaca, WI 54981.

The Waupaca Fine Arts Festival includes the Waupaca Community Choir and Civic Orchestra Concert, Waupaca Art Show, Waupaca Community Theatre and Waupaca Community Children’s Theatre.

The concert was held April 7, and the art show ran from April 21-26.

The children’s theatre will present Disney’s “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” July 22-26.

The community theatre production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” will be July 26-28 and Aug. 1-3, at the Waupaca High School Performing Arts Center.

The June 29 celebration of the 50th anniversary of the fine arts festival is not a fundraiser. Its purpose is to host those who have supported and been a part of the festival.
