Courchaine, Twila F.

Twila F. Courchaine, age 75, of New London, died on Friday, July 05, 2013.

Twila was born on October 4, 1937, in Pfeifer Kansas, daughter of the late Alex and Pauline (Waldschmidt) Jacobs. Twila moved to Wisconsin at the age of 2. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School, Menasha. On July 24, 1957, she was united in marriage to Stuart Courchaine at St. Mary’s Church, Menasha. Stu preceded her in death in 2000. Twila enjoyed sports especially going to her children and grandchildren’s sporting events while they were growing up. She also enjoyed golfing with “special” friends. She formerly worked as a teacher’s aide in the New London School district and as an elderly caregiver. Twila enjoyed volunteering at the New London Senior Center. She enjoyed playing games there, exercise class and sharing her stories and great sense of humor with others. She was always thinking of others and enjoyed sending cards and letters to brighten someone else’s day.

Twila is survived by two daughters, Kimberlee (Mark) Ebert, New London and Kelley (Jon) Tate, Appleton; two sons, Jeffrey, Morongo Valley, CA and Dirk (Beth), Rapid City, SD. Three grandchildren: Justin Ebert, Ashley Ebert (special friend, David Kalbus) and Nicholis Courchaine; a sister, Delphine Knight, Neenah; brothers: Marvin (Frances) Jacobs, Minneapolis, MN; Arthur (Deloris) Jacobs, Neenah; Harvey (Rochelle) Jacobs, Neenah; and Donald (Mary) Jacobs, Menasha; sisters-in-law, Michele (George) Malinski, Appleton and Melody (Jerry) Hurst, Weyauwega. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother LeRoy Jacobs, and a granddaughter, Alexandra Courchaine.

Private family services will be held. A public celebration of Twila’s life will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 1:00 PM at the New London Senior Center.
