Waupaca City Band performs downtown

The Waupaca City Band continues to perform on the city square in downtown Waupaca.

The next concert will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12.

It will include an arrangement of current Broadway show tunes, such as the “Avenue Q” theme, “Always Look On the Bright Side” from “Spamelot,” “For Good” from “Wicked” and the “Circle of Life” from the “Lion King,” as arranged by Michael Brown into the medley titled “Opening Night On Broadway.”

The group will also play popular audience favorites and more throughout the evening, including a Children’s March, in which youngsters parade around the bandstand to the strains of a popular march.

A child is randomly chosen by drawing to lead the group and also receives a prize.

The program is free and open to the public.

Audience members are encouraged to bring their own seating.

In the event of rain, the program will move to Waupaca High School, which is located at the corner of State Highwy 22 and King Road.
