City responds to water service mailing

Several residents in Clintonville have received a mailing from HomeServe or a similar company selling water service insurance.

According to City Administrator Lisa Kuss, many residents have been calling City Hall to inquire about the mailing.

“The City does not endorse or require such coverage but it can be purchased,” said Kuss in a press release issued Friday, June 28. “It is correct that if a water service breaks on the ‘homeowners/private’ side of the service that the resident would be required to pay for the repair. If the break is on the ‘city/public’ side of the pipe then the Utility would pay for the repair. We have received a few calls about the letter that has been sent out and wanted to get this information out to our Water customers. Any questions can be directed to City Hall at 715-823-7600.”
