Rhodes heads Valley foundation board

Jack Rhodes, of Waupaca, has become the new board chairman for the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region (CFFVR)

He co-founded the Waupaca Area Community Foundation, an affiliate of the CFFVR, and chairs its Advisory Board. He also serves on the board of Fox Valley Technical College.

Rhodes led the Hamilton campus of Miami University of Ohio until retiring in 2002 and moving to Waupaca with his wife, Glenda.

He succeeds John Bykowski, chairman, CEO and president at Secura Insurance Company, who remains on the CFFVR’s board.

New board members include attorney Ben Adams, of Adams & Woodrow, Neenah; Doug Dugal, business owner and retired Institute of Paper Chemistry educator; Jon Stellmacher, retired Thrivent Financial for Lutherans executive; Raquel Strayer, a member of the Shawano Area Community Foundation Advisory Board; Cathie Tierney, president and CEO of Community First Credit Union; and Travis Andersen, president of St. Elizabeth Hospital.

The CFFVR is the second-largest certified community foundation in Wisconsin. Affiliated community foundations are located in Waupaca, Clintonville, Shawano and Chilton.

Since its founding in 1986, the CFFVR has awarded more than $162 million in grants to nonprofit organizations from more than 1,200 charitable funds under its administration.
