Hildebrand, Susan

Susan went to be with her heavenly Father on July 21, 2013 at her home.

She was born August 11, 1948 in Appleton, Wis., the daughter of the late Eldor and Margaret Behm. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield, Wis. She was raised in West Bloomfield, Wis. and graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1966. She then attended Fox Valley Tech. She married Jim Hackney in 1970. They lived and owned a steakhouse in Fort Scott, Kan. They divorced in 1977. She moved to Idaho in 1984 and later married Jim “Ed” Hildebrand in 1993. For twenty years she worked at the Pierce and Weippe Schools as a teachers’ aide and substitute. Susan loved working with the students. Susan enjoyed reading, music, water sports, cats, interior design, decorating for the holidays and gardening (especially growing ornamental gourds and mini-pumpkins for Halloween.) After Susan and Ed retired, they enjoyed traveling. Visiting relatives and friends in Wis. and enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Survivors include, at home, her husband Ed and her special cat “Chloe”. Also, brother Ron (Jane) Behm, sister Sharon (Greg) Hildebrand, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Wanda Hildebrand. Also, nephews and a niece and grand nephews and nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. All from Wis. and many special friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Walter and Lillie Behm; maternal grandparents, Ronnie and Clara Winters.

Cremation has taken place. At her request there will be no service.
