Hill, Gilbert Sealy

Gilbert Sealy Hill passed away at the Wisconsin Veterans Home on Monday, July 22, 2013.

He was born in Neenah, WI on November 15, 1924. His parents were the Rev. Gilbert and Lina (Sealy) Hill. Gilbert attended Menasha Schools until 1940 when his parents moved to Boston, MA. There he graduated from Jamaca Plain High School and went on to graduate from Harvard University in 1948. Gilbert served in the US Army Artillery and fought in the South Pacific during WWII. He retired to Pine River from Western Electric Company.

Gilbert’s parents and brother, Joseph preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Ruth “Bettie” Falvey Hill and three children: Christopher (fiancee, Maureen) of Batavia, IL; Elizabeth Hill of New York; Gilbert (Susan) Hill of Pine River; six grandchildren: Katherine (Kevin) Hill Dutton of Chicago; Graham Hill of Denver, CO; Teresa Ciaccio and Lisa Ciaccio of New York; Andrew Hill of Pine River; and Eric Hill of De Pere. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Barbara Hill, two nephews and one niece.

The Funeral Service will be on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 1 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 415 S. Main St. Waupaca. The visitation will be on Monday at the church from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah. Memorials can be sent to the Menasha Historical Society or the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
