Miller, Janice A.

Janice A. Miller, 83, of Three Lakes, Wis., formerly of New London, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013, at St. Joseph‘s Hospital, Marshfield.

She was born September 2, 1930, in the township of Deer Creek in Outagamie County, daughter of the late Leonard and Leona (Paul) Knapp. Janice grew up in Bear Creek and Clintonville area. She graduated from Clintonville High School, Class of 1948. Janice married Roger W. Miller on April 7, 1951, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Clintonville. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage. Janice worked as a medical assistant for 27 years to Dr. Clarence Topp in Clintonville as well as farmed alongside her husband, Roger.

In 1976, they moved to the Three Lakes area where they owned and operated Miller’s Shady Lane Resort until 1988. They continued to reside in the Three Lakes area on their home on Julia Creek. During that time, Janice and Roger started a new adventure by working with the Lutheran Digest and the Lutheran Churches for the next ten years. She served on the Three Lakes Chamber of Commerce Board for ten years, secretary for the Northern Lites Snowmobile Club for five years, and Oneida County Commission of Aging Board for five years. Janice was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Three Lakes where she served on the Alter Guild. Janice’s love for family and friends were an important part of her life. With them she shared her love of fishing, hunting, watching sports with her husband on TV, music, dancing, and attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Miller; two daughters, Deborah (Darryl) Navis, Markesan, Diana Miller, Three Lakes; one sister, Lorna (Ron) Piette, Neenah; two grandchildren, Chad (Jodi) Navis, Waupun, Dawn (Doug) Disch, Waupun; six great-grandchildren, Jensen, Brady, and Eliza Navis, Noah, Abram, and Allison Disch; members of her extended family and dear friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Faith Lutheran Church, Three Lakes.
