Bonke, Evelyn Marie (Hein)

Evelyn Marie (Hein) Bonke, age 89, of New London, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center.

She was born on December 21, 1923, in the Town of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, daughter of the late Max and Ida (Krueger) Hein. She attended Clintonville Schools. On May 21, 1944 she married Louie Bonke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bear Creek. Together, they owned and operated a farm in the Town of Bear Creek and a milk trucking business with the Borden Company, moving to New London in 1956. Evelyn worked at the Borden Company office in Clintonville, New London Savings and Loan, Bob Laux Insurance, Cristy’s Department Store, and Hoffman Heating & Sheet Metal in New London. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London and their Ladies Aid. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and card playing.

She is survived by her three sisters: Bernice Behnke, Betty Wisnefske, both of Clintonville; Joyce Hoffman, New London; a brother, James (Shirley) Hein, Clintonville; sisters-in-law, Joyce Vissers, Green Bay; Marjorie Hicks, Clintonville; Nancy Hein, La Crosse; also nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Louie in January of 1999, four brothers: Marvin, Lyle, Arlyn and Elroy; also three sisters: Laura Wisnefske, Eleanor Wendt and Mildred Hein.

The Christian Funeral for Evelyn will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. A visitation for Evelyn will be held directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are preferred for either Emanuel Lutheran Church or their Ladies Aid. Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London, served the family.
