Bears maul Wolves? playoff hopes

With both teams battling for a playoff spot, Friday night’s matchup between the Bonduel Bears and Manawa Wolves promised to be an exciting game.

It was Senior Night and “Think Pink” night in Manawa, and the Wolves came out fired up and ready to play.

Bonduel got on the board first with a touchdown in the opening frame. The Bears added 13 points in the second quarter before Manawa could come up with an answer. Garret Griffin provided the Wolves’ only first-half score on a six-yard touchdown run to narrow the score to 20-6 in favor of the Bears at halftime.

Bonduel kept the momentum after the break, scoring 14 points in the third quarter while keeping Manawa off the scoreboard in the frame.

Bonduel added one touchdown in the fourth quarter. Manawa matched that score and converted the two-point try, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit. Bonduel walked away with a 41-14 win and a playoff berth.

Griffin carried the ball 13 times for 93 yards, while Brandon Radloff completed nine of 25 pass attempts for 90 yards with two interceptions. Tanner Meyer led Manawa receivers with three catches for 21 yards.
