New London teen faces drug charges

Michael A. Kallas, 17, New London, was charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs, misdemeanor theft and felony bail jumping.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, Deputies David Huberty and Nick Traeger went to a home on Buelow Road in the town of Lebanon in response to a domestic complaint.

The officers first spoke with Kallas, who said he and his father had been arguing while driving back from the Milwaukee area. When they arrived home, his father hit him and shoved him out of the car, Kallas told the deputies.

According to the criminal complaint, the father said Kallas had seemed to be on some sort of drugs all weekend. The mother said she did not want Kallas living with her due to his drug abuse and behavioral issues.

The officers later found more than 40 prescription pills in Kallas’ possession.

On July 2, Kallas was charged in Outagamie County with two counts of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property. He was released on a $2,000 signature bond with the conditions that he maintain absolute sobriety and not commit any crimes.

On Aug. 9, Kallas was charged in Waupaca County with possession of drugs with intent to deliver, resisting an officer, theft and three counts of felony bail jumping. He was released on $1,000 signature bond.
