The Weyauwega Fire Department has announced the winners of its 2013 Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest.
The contest was open to all elementary students in Weyauwega.
This year’s theme was about preventing kitchen fires.
Following are the first through fourth-place winners at each grade level, as well as which school they attend.
• First grade: Cohan Weed, first place, St. Peter Lutheran School; Hannah Pantzlaff, second place, St. Peter Lutheran School; Ezra Balthazor, third place, Weyauwega Elementary School; and Ethan Gerritts, fourth place, Weyauwega Elementary School.
• Second grade: Reed Curtis, first place, St. Peter Lutheran School; Matthew Moyer, second place, St. Peter Lutheran School; Mary Hansen, third place, Weyauwega Elementary School; and Hailey Wohlt, fourth place, Weyauwega Elementary School.
• Third grade: Charlie Zastrow, first place, St. Peter Lutheran School; Emma Poltrock, second place, Weyauwega Elementary School; Madelyn Nehring, third place, Weyauwega Elementary School; and Holden Bevers, fourth place, Weyauwega Elementary School.
• Fourth grade: Gracie Hansen, first place, Weyauwega Elementary School; Megan McGlin, second place, St. Peter Lutheran School; Trista Ritchie, third place, Weyauwega Elementary School; and Ali Kaminske, fourth place, St. Peter Lutheran School.
• Fifth grade: Jacob Doede, first place, Weyauwega Elementary School; Danielle Boelter, second place, Weyauwega Elementary School; Ashley Johnson, third place, Weyauwega Elementary School; and Paige Culbertson, fourth place, Weyauwega Elementary School.
The posters of the students who won first place will be entered in the state competition.
