On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Clintonville Trucker girl’s high school swim team traveled to UW-Stevens Point for sectionals.
With fifteen teams competing in eight individual events plus three relays, Clintonville placed seventh overall. The top eight finishers are recognized in each event. The winners of each event are automatic state qualifiers with remaining spots decided by time.
The Truckers swam several personal bests, with Kaitlyn Durkey, Sara Messner, Gabby Goerlinger, Emily Graper, Rayne Ruch, and Dakota Sears making top eight and earning recognition on the podium.
Junior Gabby Goerlinger qualified for the WIAA High School State Championship by winning both her individual events of 200 free and 100 back. Goerlinger will be competing Friday, Nov. 15 at the Natatorium in Madison.
