Waupaca County criminal sentencing Nov. 27

The following people were sentenced in Waupaca County Circuit Court.

• Judge Philip Kirk dismissed outright a felony arson charge against Ryan C. Schweiner, 31, Iola, on a motion by the prosecution.

• Judge John Hoffmann placed Ben M. Trauger, 30, Appleton, on two years of probation and ordered him to pay $632 in restitution and court costs and perform 200 hours of community service.

Trauger was convicted of armed burglary. Two counts of armed robbery, two counts of false imprisonment and one count of reckless endangerment were dismissed and read into the record for sentencing purposes.

• Hoffmann sentenced Mark E. Knaus, 53, Weyauwega, to three years in state prison and two years of extended supervision.

The judge also ordered Knaus to pay $1,428 in court costs, revoked his license for 30 months and ordered him to install an ignition interlock on all of his vehicles.

Knaus was convicted of an eighth drunken driving offense.

• Judge Raymond Huber sentenced Joshua A. Boyd, 29, Waupaca, to three years in state prison and two years of extended supervision.

Boyd was convicted of his seventh drunken driving offense.

The judge also ordered Boyd to perform 150 hours of community service, pay $303 in court costs and install an ignition interlock on his vehicle. He revoked Boyd’s license for 36 months.

Boyd’s Waupaca County sentence will be served concurrently with his Lincoln County sentence in October, where he was ordered to spend two years in prison for his sixth drunken driving offense.

• Hoffmann placed Christopher W. Yakich, 37, Waupaca, on four years of probation, sentenced him to three consecutive 30-day terms in jail and ordered him to pay $3,371 in fines and court costs and $3,701 in restitution for his victim’s medical costs. Yakich is also prohibited from consuming alcohol or going into bars or liquor stores.

Yakich was convicted of disorderly conduct for a Nov. 13, 2012 offense. Charges of substantial battery and violating a restraining order were dismissed but read into the record for sentencing.

At the time of Yakich’s sentencing, prosecutors had filed eight separate criminal cases against him between November 2012 and September 2013. His other convictions included five counts of felony bail jumping and two counts of disorderly conduct. Multiple charges of battery, disorderly conduct, violating a domestic abuse order, bail jumping and resisting an officer were dismissed but read into the record.

• Hoffmann placed Brandon B. Brasch, 32, New London, on two years of probation, sentenced him to six months in jail, revoked his license for 36 months, ordered him to install an ignition interlock for 36 months and assessed him $4,000 in fines and court costs.

Brasch was convicted of his fourth drunken driving offense. Charges of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and operating after revocation were dismissed and read into the record.

• Huber placed Treavor A. Beck, 18, Saukville, on three years of probation, ordered him to perform 50 hours of community service, revoked his license for one year and assessed him $2.027 in fines and court costs.

Beck was convicted of felony bail jumping and two misdemeanor counts of causing injury while operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance.

• Kirk placed Michael G. Laux, 58, Shawano, on three years of probation and assessed him $268 in court costs.

Laux was convicted of violating the state sex offender registry after Clintonville police found him living under a bridge in August. He spent 48 days living at the county jail while his case was pending.

• Huber imposed and stayed a 30-day sentence and assessed Allen M. Grove, 48, Weyauwega, $243.

Grove was convicted of disorderly conduct. Charges of felony child abuse and battery were dismissed and read into the record.

• Hoffmann placed Keith L. Albers, 53, New London, on one year of probation and assessed him $343.

Albers was convicted of disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping. Charges of felony child abuse and battery were dismissed and read into the record.

• Hoffmann placed Lisa M. Szulczewski, 43, Tigerton, on one year of probation and assessed her $686 in fines and court costs.

Szulczewski was convicted of battery and disorderly conduct. A felony charge of strangulation was dismissed by the prosecutor.

• Kirk placed Cole G. LaViolette, 19, Clintonville, on two years of probation.

LaViolette was convicted of theft and misdemeanor bail jumping. He also entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the district attorney’s office on a felony charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child.

• Hoffmann placed Dominique J. Christian, 30, New London, on two years of probation and ordered him to serve 50 hours of community service.

Christian was convicted of felony possession of narcotics. Charges of possession of amphetamines, illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed and read into the record.

• Kirk placed Kelli J. Chilson, 39, Waupaca, on two years of probation and assessed her $268 in court costs.

Chilson was convicted of delivery of narcotics. A misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer was dismissed and read into the record.

• Huber sentenced Lance L. Jelinski, 25, Plainfield, to five days in jail, ordered him to serve 30 hours of community service and install an ignition interlock for one year, revoked his license for 12 months, and assessed him $1,387 in fines and court costs.

Jelinski was convicted of a second drunken driving offense and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer, which had been amended from a felony charge of fleeing an officer.

In a separate case, Jelinski was convicted of illegal possession of marijuana and misdemeanor bail jumping, for which Huber placed him on two years of probation.

• Kirk sentenced David Gonzales, 29, Wautoma, to nine months in jail.

Gonzales was convicted as a repeat offender of resisting an officer. A charge of criminal trespass was dismissed and read into the record. A felony stalking charge was dismissed by the prosecutor.

• Kirk placed Peter J. Klotzbuecher, 29, Manawa, on two years of probation.

Klotzbuecher was convicted of two counts of misdemeanor theft. Four counts of felony theft and one count of misdemeanor theft were dismissed and read into the record.

Kirk also ordered 60 days in jail, but stayed 50 days and ordered Klotzbuecher to pay $896 in restitution and court costs.

• Hoffmann placed Trenton J. Blume, 24, Waupun, on one year of probation after he imposed and stayed six months in jail.

Blume was convicted in Waupaca County of battery. A disorderly conduct charge was dismissed and read into the record, while the prosecutor dismissed five felony counts of battery by a prisoner.

Blume was a Wood County prisoner staying in Waupaca County jail at the time of the battery incident. He had been charged with first-degree reckless homicide through the delivery of drugs.

After the Wood County charges were filed, Taylor County revoked Blume’s probation on multiple burglary and theft charges and sentenced him to three years in prison.

• Huber assessed Darren P. Daucsavage, 45, Loyal, $1,426 in fines and court costs.

In three separate felony cases, Daucsavage was convicted of two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping and one count of disorderly conduct.

Two counts of battery, two counts of disorderly conduct and two counts of felony bail jumping were dismissed and read into the record. Daucsavage also entered into a deferred prosecution agreement on a battery charge.

• Hoffmann sentenced Kou Yang, 34, Appleton, to 150 days in jail, then stayed 115 days under the Safe Streets Treatment Options Program.

Yang was convicted of a third drunken driving offense. A charge of operating while revoked was dismissed and read into the record, while the prosecutor dismissed a charge of drunken driving with a juvenile passenger.

Hoffmann also revoked Yang’s license for 33 months, ordered him to install an ignition interlock device and pay $2,344 in fines and court costs.

• Hoffmann placed Jennifer J. Lewicki, 39, Waupaca, on three years of probation and ordered her to serve six months in jail.

Lewicki was convicted of a fourth drunken driving offense and for failing to install an ignition interlock device.

The judge also ordered her to install an ignition interlock for the next 36 months, revoked her license for 36 months and assessed her $3,446 in fines and court costs.

• Huber sentenced Jeremy R. Gosh, 33, Stevens Point, to six months in jail and assessed him $243 in court costs.

Gosh was convicted of misdemeanor battery, amended from a felony charge. A disorderly conduct charge was dismissed and read into the record.

• Kirk placed Joshua J. Robbert, 29, Weyauwega, on three years of probation and ordered him to serve 11 months in jail

Robbert was convicted of a fifth drunken driving offense. A misdemeanor bail juming charge was dismissed and read into the record.

Kirk also revoked Robbert’s license for 36 months, ordered him to install an ignition interlock and assessed him $268.

• Hoffmann imposed and stayed a one year sentence in jail, then placed David K. Hagen, 44, Marshfield, on three years probation.

Hagen was convicted of felony bail jumping. Charges of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property were dismissed and read into the record.

• Huber placed Ross D. Wetzel, 31, Clintonville, on two years of probation and assessed $268 in court costs.

Wetzel was convicted of felony possession of narcotics.

• Huber placed Daniel C. Fritz, 22, Iola, on two years of probation and ordered him to perform 200 hours of community service.

Fritz was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. A charge of delivery of amphetamines was dismissed and read into the record.

• Hoffmann placed Christopher D. Sommer, 39, New London, on two years probation and assessed him $839.

Sommer was convicted of disorderly conduct, taking an abandoned vehicle without the owner’s consent and operating after revocation. A battery charge was dismissed and read into the record.

• Hoffmann placed Isaiah Frederick T. Sommer, 23, Weyauwega, on three years of probation and stayed a 30-day sentence in jail.

In three separate criminal cases, Sommer was convicted of delivery of marijuana and retail theft. Charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping were dismissed and read into the record.

Sommer also entered into a deferred prosecution agreement after pleading no contest to a felony charge of repeated sexual assault of a child.

• Huber ordered Anthony V. Pellerino, 20, Weyauwega, to perform 50 hours of community service and pay $1,789 in restitution and court costs.

Pellerino was convicted of three counts of misdemeanor theft. Ten felony counts of forgery uttering were dismissed and read into the record.

• Kirk placed Melissa E. Davis, 27, Appleton, on 30 months of probation and assessed her $268 in court costs.

Davis was convicted of felony bail jumping. Charges of possession of narcotics and misdemeanor bail jumping were dismissed and read into the record.

At the time of her arrest in Waupaca County, Davis was out on bail and facing felony drug trafficking charges in Outagamie County.

• Kirk sentenced Joseph A. Pedery, 38, Bonduel, to nine months in jail, revoked his license for 30 months, ordered him to install an ignition interlock for 30 months and assessed him $2,241 in fines and court costs.

Pedery was convicted of a fourth drunken driving offense.
