Marie Margaret Peterson, age 93 of Waupaca, WI formerly of Ogdensburg passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013.
Marie was born November 3, 1920 in the Township of Union, Waupaca County, WI, the daughter of the late Edward and Matilda (Miller) Ernst. She grew up on a farm in the Symco area. Marie married Charles R. Peterson on April 25, 1943 at Symco, WI and lived in that area until moving to Ogdensburg in 1953. She was married to her husband, Charles for almost 51 years. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1994.
Marie is survived by her son; Gale C. Peterson, Waupaca, WI; grand-daughters, Angela (William) Anthony and their children Jeremy, Brandon, Jacob, Barrett, Abby, Gabriel; grand-daughter, Shalon Pelzer and her children Thomas and Trevor. Marie is further survived by a sister-in-law; Bertha Ernst, Marion, WI; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marie is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters; Norma Ernst, Nora Schoenrock, Erna Moak, Emma Groth, Anna Wisnefske, Ruby Ostrander; brother; Richard Ernst; her brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; and two great-grandchildren; Shay Marie and William Wallace Jr. Anthony. In Marie’s younger years she worked doing housework, then later she worked for 7 years doing restaurant work in the Waupaca and Manawa areas. She also worked for 18 years at American Toy and Furniture Company in Hortonville, until retiring in 1990.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 14th at First Lutheran Church in Ogdensburg. Pastor Karen Riemer is officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, December 13th at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI and again on Saturday from 12 Noon until time of service at the church.
