Bulldogs lose to Red Raiders

The Bulldogs aren’t used to losing, but they’ve started the season with back-to-back losses to the Appleton East Patriots and the Pulaski Red Raiders.

New London traveled to Pulaski on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and came home with a 21-30 loss.

New London and Pulaski both scored eight points in the first quarter. Pulaski outscored New London 8-7 in the second quarter to lead by one at halftime.

In the third quarter, Pulaski outscored New London 10-4. Defense ruled the fourth quarter, as New London held Pulaski to just four points. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, the offense stalled, and they only scored two points in the fourth quarter, ending the game with the score in Pulaski’s favor.

Payton Mix led the team with eight points, while Mickey Roland added seven. Lexi Roland and Gretl Steingraber both scored three for the Bulldogs, but no other players could add points for the offense.

New London made 9 of 28 shots (32 percent) and made 2 of 7 3-point attempts (28 percent). The team made 1 of 3 free throw attempts (33 percent).

The Bulldogs notched 19 rebounds, six assists, eight steals, and one block; however, they committed 17 turnovers.

The Bulldogs play at home on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Opening tip is set for 7:15 p.m.
