Iola-Scandinavia’s boys’ basketball improved to 4-0 on the season with a pair of nonconference wins over Marion and Edgar.
The Thunderbirds handed Marion a 59-35 defeat Dec. 7 and picked up a 40-37 win Dec. 3 over Edgar.
The T-Birds outscored Marion 17-9 in the first quarter and 15-10 in the second period to take a 32-19 halftime lead. I-S added to its lead with a 15-4 advantage in the third quarter before both teams scored 12 points over the final eight points.
I-S opened Central Wisconsin 8 Conference play Dec. 10 at Bonduel. The T-Birds will host Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in another CWC-8 matchup before returning to nonconference play Saturday, Dec. 14, with a 2 p.m. home game against Cambria-Friesland.
