Shepard, Bette Ann (Hartlaben)

Bette Ann (Hartlaben) Shepard, age 56, of Shiocton passed away on December 14, 2013 at home following over three years of battling breast cancer.

She was born December 21, 1956 in Appleton to LeRoy and Lois (Volkman) Hartlaben. Bette graduated from Seymour High School. On October 11, 1975 she was united in marriage to Harold Shepard, Jr. Bette and Harold have resided in the town of Maine for over 35 years on their farm. She was a member of the Clintonville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. One of Bette’s greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren, family, and her many friends.

Bette Ann is survived by her husband, Harold; son, Michael (Heather) Shepard and their children, Sean and Mason; daughter, Morgan (Troy) DiBurgo and their children, Alexa, Desmond, and Paige; parents, LeRoy and Lois Hartlaben; siblings: Gary Hartlaben, Pete (Sheryl) Hartlaben, Randy Hartlaben, Ronald Hartlaben, Barb (Randy) Schmidt, Steve (Sheila) Hartlaben, Karen (Patrick) VanLanen, Christine (Rick) Stedl, Kathy (Paul) Dollhopf; brother-in-law, Gary and Diane Shepard; sisters-in-law: Mary Shepard and Wanda (Jim) Subert. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Hartlaben; paternal grandparents, Wesley and Elizabeth Hartlaben; maternal grandparents, Harold and Mildred Volkman; nephews: Peter Subert and Brandon Shepard; and in-laws, Harold and Doris Shepard.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main Street, Seymour, on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Clintonville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, N10988 Lakeshore Rd, Clintonville, from 9 am until services at 11 am. Inurment will take place at the South Maine Cemetery.
