Winter programs at Clintonville library

Upcoming programs have been announced for the Clintonville Public Library.

A 12-week series of “Getting Dressed” story times for children will be held from Jan. 6 through March 25.

Stories, songs and finger plays will be presented from 10:15-10:45 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Caregivers must accompany children under three years of age.

Story times are designed to help children develop listening skills, increase their attention spans, learn to follow simple directions and participate in group activities.

The “After School Page Turners” program will be held from 3:30-4 p.m. on Tuesdays. The program is open to all children grades 3-8 from Jan. 7 through March 18. It allows them to relax after school with popcorn, lemonade and a great story.

The “Babygarten” program is for infants under 2 years of age and their caregivers. They will share nursery rhymes, songs and books and the session always concludes with a free play period.

Babygarten will be held at 11 a.m. Fridays from Jan. 10 through March 14, with no Babygarten on Jan. 24.

“Teen Trux” will meet from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Wednesdays on Jan 15, Feb. 12 and March 12. There will be pizza and games for teens from grades 6 and up.

There will be a Yu-gi-oh Tournament at 3:45 p.m. Fridays Jan. 17, Feb. 14 and March 14. All ages are welcome.

Chess Club will meet from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Jan. 8, This is a great opportunity for all ages to learn, play and enjoy chess.

“Legos at the Library” will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday every month from Jan. 9 through April 24, with no session on Jan. 23. Ages 5 and up are welcome to let their imagination run wild. Legos will be provided; DO NOT bring your own Legos.

These free programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Library and no registration is necessary.
