Indians knock off Chargers

Thirty-seven.

That’s how many free throws the Weyauwega-Fremont boys’ basketball team shot in the second half of the Indians’ 48-31 Central Wisconsin 8 Conference win over Wittenberg-Birnamwood Feb. 7.

The Indians also came out on the short end of a 57-39 score Feb. 4 in Mosinee.

W-F 48, W-B 31

WEYAUWEGA – W-F held the Chargers to two points in the first quarter and cruised to the win.

The Indians led 11-2 after one quarter, 25-9 at halftime and 36-21 after three quarters before outscoring the Chargers 12-10 over the final eight minutes.

Dan Prillwitz had 10 points for the Indians, while Adam Krause added nine.

Mosinee 57, W-F 39

MOSINEE – Aaron Maas scored 23 points to lead Mosinee to the nonconference win.

W-F took an 11-9 lead into the second quarter, but Mosinee led 25-22 at halftime and outscored the Indians 22-10 in the fourth quarter.

Aaron Schroeder and Krause led the Indians with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Indians played a rescheduled game at Manawa Feb. 10, played in Bonduel Feb. 11 and will host Stevens Point Pacelli at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14.
