Musky Magic set in New London

Wisconsin’s premier game fish will be highlighted at Musky Magic in New London.

The 26th annual event, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at New London Middle School, 1000 W. Washington St., New London, offers opportunities to learn about musky fishing from featured speakers, professional guides and tackle manufacturers.

Poolside demonstrations, door prizes, raffles and plenty of time to visit with exhibitors round out the day.

Dozens of manufacturers will display and sell their baits and musky equipment, while on-the-water lure demonstrations will take place in the New London Community Pool across the street.

Featured speakers this year include Rich Reinert at 1:30 p.m. and Steve Worrall at 3:30 p.m.

Reinert is a Minocqua area musky guide, tackle designer and sought-after speaker with 35 years of fishing experience. He has landed more than 1,500 muskies in his boat over the years and, as a result of that success on the water, has spoken on many radio programs and at numerous sport shows.

With more than 40 years of experience in the fishing industry, Worrall has become a well-recognized speaker in the musky community. He provides a wide range of information to musky anglers through www.MuskieFirst.com and informational seminars. He is also a co-owner of Outdoors First Media.

Special raffles will be held during the afternoon and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Grilled hamburgers, bratwurst and BBQ beef sandwiches, homemade cookies, a variety of snack foods and beverages can be purchased. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for ages 13 and under. Tickets are only available at the door.

Musky Magic sponsors include Musky Hunter Magazine, St. Germain; Dave’s Musky Club, Kaukauna; and NewLondonTourism.com. All proceed support educational programs at Mosquito Hill Nature Center.
