State usurping local control over permits

I am appalled that the state is again trying to have local control yanked away from us. Why do we have town and county officials if the state will tell us what we can or can not do?

SB632 is on a fast track and the timing is perfect to sneak this miserable bill past the voters.

First, it was cell towers. Now, it’s non-metallic mining. Why should the state tell local units of government what can be permitted?

Preserve Waupaca County has spent two years trying to prevent an industrial sand mine from operating in the town of Union. All the concerns of health and safety, controls of noise, dust, truck traffic, hours of operation as specifically listed in the permit and local ordinances will mean nothing.

Please do what you can by contacting your own elected officials and see if they are aware this bill is stripping their powers.
