I had not intended to support either candidate in the race for Waupaca County Circuit Court Branch II.
I believed that both candidates were qualified attorneys who would be capable of serving the public as judge.
However, after 47 years of practicing law in Weyauwega I have found that a good judge not only needs to know the law but also needs to be considerate, compassionate, humble and respectful. I believe that a person who does not demonstrate those qualities as a candidate is not likely to demonstrate those qualities on the bench.
The events of the last two weeks have demonstrated to me that only one candidate possesses those qualities. Therefore, I will be voting for Vicki Clussman for judge.
