Bunkelman, Verna

Verna L. Bunkelman, age 89 formerly of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute, Wisconsin.

Verna L. Brocker was born September 21, 1924 in the Town of Hobart, Brown County, WI, a daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Schumacher) Brocker. On February 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Bunkelman at Oneida, Wisconsin. Following their marriage the couple moved to Seymour.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Patricia (Augie) Peotter of Appleton; Janice Sawall of New London and Julie (Steve) Dyer of St Mary’s, Georgia. She is further survived by Bill Reinke’s children, Glen Reinke, Christine (Pat) Scannel of De Pere, Steve (Ginny) Reinke of Green Bay, Ruth (Lloyd) Allen of Navarino and Paul Reinke of Shawano. Verna also leaves eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Don (Marge) Brocker of Seward, Illinois, many nieces, nephews and a very special friend LaVerne Lucht of Shawano. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Vick and Lucille Werner and two brothers, Victor and Melvin Brocker.

Memorial services for Verna L. Bunkelman will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Divine Savior Lutheran Church of Shawano. Pastor Paul Kuehn will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Lake Drive Cemetery, Town of Wescott. Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. The family gives special thanks to Todd and all of the hospice team members, Cherry Meadows and Parkside staff for the compassion and care that Verna received from them all.
