Flanagan, Jerome “Porky” T.

Jerome “Porky” T. Flanagan, age 78 of Manawa, died at his residence on Saturday, April 19, 2014.

Jerry was born in New London, Wisconsin on February 4, 1936, the son of Thomas and Viola (Stroesenreuther) Flanagan. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1961. On August 19, 1959, Jerry married Annette Chaffin in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1960 Jerry and Annette moved to Manawa where they farmed and began raising their children. Shortly thereafter, Jerry found his true passion as a truck driver. He loved the open road and was a driver for over 50 years. Jerry enjoyed Nascar racing, tractor pulls, going to Crandon for the Brush Run Races, deer hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his second wife, Sharel Flanagan; two sons, Eugene Flanagan and Kenneth Flanagan; two daughters, Susan Campbell and Sally Flanagan; two grandchildren, Tyler J. Heinrich and Candice M. Campbell; two sisters, Patricia and Margerette; and three brothers, David, Tom, and Mike. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Annette in 1991; two brothers, Donnie and John; and nieces, Rhonda and Renee Radatz.

A funeral service for Jerome will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa, with Thomas Flanagan officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf.
