Hunter, Tressie L.

Tressie L. Hunter, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Crystal River Nursing Home under Heartland Hospice care. 

She was born October 2, 1922 in the Town of Lanark, Portage Co., WI; daughter of Bert and Adelaide (Goodacre) Harris. On November 2, 1943, Tressie married Harold M. Hunter in Spokane, Washington and together they shared 40 years of marriage before his passing on May 13, 1984. She was a wonderful baker and those who experienced her baking especially enjoyed her chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, and oatmeal cake. Tressie always had a positive attitude and a positive outlook on those she encountered; she always had a smile upon her face! She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to not only her own family, but to many others who she enjoyed helping through the years. Tressie will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and many friends.

Tressie is survived by: daughter: Carol (Wayne R.) Bydynkowski of Iola, WI; grandsons, Wayne H. (Wan Da) Bydynkowski of Waupaca, WI and Robert R. (Ann) Bydynkowski of Iola, WI; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Amber Bydynkowski of Iola, WI; great-great granddaughter, Sophiaah Bydynkowski of Iola, WI; sister, Lucy Miller of Waupaca, WI; brothers, Andrew Harris of Newbern, TN and Harold (Helen) Harris of Iola, WI. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Adelaide Harris; her husband, Harold Hunter; two sisters, Elizabeth Harris and Marian Goodacre; four brothers, Forest, Leon, William, and Gordon Harris; three sisters-in-law, Alice Harris, Leona “Sissy” Harris, and Leona Harris; and two brothers-in-law, Carl Goodacre and Laverne Miller.

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Waupaca, WI. Pastor Rick Anderson will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
