Two charged with bike thefts

Charged with burglary and theft are Isaia F.T. Sommer, 23, Weyauwega, and Jesse L. Hansen, 23, New London.

On Sept. 6, 2013, Weyauwega Police Officer Adam Rogge met with a resident of the 700 block of South Pine Street. The resident reported that two children’s bikes had been stolen from his garage.

On April 16, 2014, Rogge went to the 100 block of West Alfred Street in response to another stolen bicycle report.

The officer met with a man who said his sister’s bike had been stolen from the dining room. He said he suspected Hansen, who had previously lived in the basement of the house.

The man also showed Rogge another children’s bike that was in a basement storage room and said he suspected that bike was also stolen. The bike was identified as one of the two stolen from South Pine Street.

Deputy Chad Repinski later questioned Hansen about the bike found in the basement.

According to the criminal complaint, Hansen accused Sommer of stealing the Pine Street bike.

Video surveillance footage from South Mill Street in Weyauwega shows a silver Pontiac drive up and park in front of the house on Alfred Street.

Two men exit the car and enter through a window, according to the criminal complaint. They are then seen leaving the house with a mattress. One of them returns into the house, then comes out with a bike, which is placed into the car’s trunk.
