Big inning lifts Indians over Wolves

A 12-run third inning and nine Manawa errors added up to a 24-0 win for the Weyauwega-Fremont softball team May 12.

The Central Wisconsin 8 Conference win came two days after Horicon and Oakfield held the Indians scoreless at the Oakfield Invitational.

The Indians also fell to Shiocton 10-1 May 5 in CWC-8 play.

WEYAUWEGA – Kori Looker had three hits, scored three times and drove in five runs for the Indians, while Karissa Akey tossed a three-hitter.

Horicon 1, W-F 0

OAKFIELD – Horicon’s run in the top of the first inning turned out to be all the offense the Marshmen needed.
Akey took the loss on the mound.

OAKFIELD – The Oaks came up with two runs in the fourth and fifth innings and another in the sixth.
Akey had two of the Indians’ four hits in the game,

Shiocton 10, W-F 1
WEYAUWEGA – Shiocton scored three times in the second inning and four times in the fifth to build a 10-0 lead. The Indians came up with a run in the bottom of the sixth.
