Mustangs, Comets top Truckers

The Clintonville softball team dropped Eastern Valley Conference doubleheaders to Little Chute May 13 and Waupaca May 15.

LITTLE CHUTE – The Mustangs led 5-0 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Truckers began a rally by scoring two runs. Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep the momentum and the offense fizzled, resulting in a 5-2 defeat.

The Mustangs scored five runs on eight hits and benefitted from three Clintonville errors. Megan Wittman pitched for the Lady Truckers, taking the loss.

The Truckers had three hits.

LITTLE CHUTE – The Mustangs jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.

Laura Lukoski pitched for Clintonville, taking the loss. Little Chute scored five runs on nine hits and capitalized on three Trucker errors.

Clintonville had three hits and benefitted from three Mustang errors.

Waupaca 10, Clintonville 3
CLINTONVILLE – The Comets held a narrow 3-2 lead after five innings, but broke the game open by scoring five runs in the top of the sixth and two in the top of the seventh.

Wittman pitched and took the loss for Clintonville, allowing 14 hits. The Trucker defense also committed seven errors in the game.

Sami Huggins led Clintonville’s offense with two hits, while Lukoski added an RBI triple.

Brenna Oleson, Tasha Smith and Mandy Tomlinson had three of Waupaca’s 14 hits and Jolie Borntrager got the win on the mound.

CLINTONVILLE – Lukoski pitched and took the loss, allowing eight runs on 13 hits. The Lady Trucker defense committed three errors behind her.

Samanna Dey led the offense with two hits, including a double. Cassie Blank also laced two hits for Clintonville.

Oleson and Lindsey Reach each had three of Wauapca’s 13 hits, while Borntrager got the pitching win.
