Duch, Steven P.

Steven P. Duch, age 60, New London, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 29, 2014, following a short illness.

Steven was born on January 4, 1954, in New London, son of Harold and Nona (Griffin) Duch. He was united in marriage to Patricia Carey on April 6, 1974, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Town of Lebanon. They were together 45 years. Steven was a resident of the New London area all of his life where he farmed and was employed at Sturm Foods in Manawa for several years and was also employed at Hillshire Farms, New London and Sanimax, Green Bay. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1975 – 1979, stationed in Wichita Falls, TX and Jacksonville, AR. Steven’s life revolved around his family especially his grandkids and family farm. He also loved peanut butter, blueberries, apple pie and Hamm’s beer.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; mother, Nona, Verona; daughters, Tonya (Ted) Winkelman, Cristina (Pierce) Wanner, both of New London; sons, Eric (Jill) Duch, New London and Kevin (Toni) Duch, Ettrick; brothers: Barry (Janet) Duch, New London; Alan (Carol) Duch, Greenville; Gene (Kathy) Duch, New London and Brian Duch, Texas; sisters, Judy Siebold, River Falls; Tammy (Bryan) Moran, Waunakee. Steven is further survived by his grandchildren: Claire Marcella Duch, Nicholas Steven Duch, Autumn Olivia Winkelman and Elaine Cristina Winkelman and also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold and father and mother in-law, Bernard and Olivia Carey.

Funeral services for Steven will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 1, 2014, from 3-7 p.m. and also on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Town of Lebanon, Military Graveside Rites will be held.
