Behm, Joan M.

Joan M. Behm of Berlin, formerly of Weyauwega, went to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord at the age of 84 on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Patriot Place in Berlin. 

She was born on September 18, 1929 in Oshkosh, daughter of the late Herbert and Frieda (Rosenau) Redmann. Joan graduated from Weyauwega High School with the class of 1947. On January 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Melvin A. Behm at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. He preceded her in death in 2010. Joan and Melvin farmed in West Bloomfield where Melvin had begun selling insurance with State Farm in 1948. Joan was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield for many years. Upon her transition into Patriot Place, she became a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin. She was a member of the Wisconsin Garden Club Association, holding a variety of offices and was also a Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judge. Joan was proud to develop and lead multiple major undertakings, including the project for Berlin’s historical maypole and the painting of the grain tower in Weyauwega. Joan was also a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, serving in various offices. 

She is survived by her children: Laurie (Joel) Glawe, Randy (Cheryl) Behm, Dan (Cheryl) Behm; son-in-law, Gary Boltz; grandchildren: Morgan (Kimberly) and Colleen Boltz, Abby and Martha Glawe, Pastor David and Jonathan (Ashley) Behm, Rob and Matt Behm; great-grand-daughter, Arianna Alexander; brother, Duwayne (Mary) Redmann; sister-in-law Cardelle Redmann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Nadine Boltz, siblings Helen Boelter and Paul Redmann, as well as in-laws Ruby (Robert) Stillman.
 
The funeral service for Joan will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin (168 Mound St.) with Rev. Bryan Lundquist officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in West Bloomfield. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
