Wilson, Wilfred H.

Wilfred H. Wilson, age 83, of New London, formerly of Ogdensburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 17th, 2014 at his residence. 

He was born in the Town of Helvetia, WI on April 13, 1931, a son of the late Merle and Nora (Huycke) Wilson. He married Violet R. Chapman on June 30, 1962. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2006. Wilfred was a truck driver for Waupaca Co. Hwy. Dept. for 27 years. He enjoyed smoking cigars and feeding birds. Wilfred was a veteran of the Korean War at which time he served in the U.S. Army. 

Survivors include his sons: James (Jeanne) Moran, Ogdensburg, WI; Dennis (Mary) Wilson, Clintonville, WI; Mark (Jody) Wilson, Ogdensburg, WI; Jeff Wilson, Ogdensburg, WI; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Barb Wilson. Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, wife – Violet, son – William, grandson – Cody, great-grandson – Robert, 6 brothers: Ellis, Delbert, Ernest, Loren, Lyle and Milton, sister – Valerie and sisters-in-law – Myrtle and Dorothy. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 19th, 2014, with Rev. Patrick Rausch, Sr., officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tracy Phillips for all of her loving and compassionate care while helping take care of Grandpa.
