Don?t Stop Believin?

The Wolf River Theatrical Troupe (WRTT) and over 33 New London students will present “Don’t Stop Believin” at the New London High School Auditorium on July 30, 31, and Aug. 1-2.

“Don’t Stop Believin” is based on the book by Craig Sodaro, with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur.  This lively production includes numerous plot lines and 16 different musical numbers.

The stage is set in a large inner city around the year 2000, where a bunch if teens rally around Aleta to help her save the community center that will close unless $100,000 is raised.  The teens form a glee club and audition to be on “Who’s Got Talent?” for the chance to win the $100,000, despite corrupt politicians and even unethical judges who do their best to keep them from saving the center.

The student cast members range in ages from 10 to 17.  With guidance from Director Chris Renner of the WWTT, and several other adults, the students have had the opportunity to choreograph and manage their own production.

This is the fourth year the WRTT collaborated with the community to put on the summer performance.

The students have been working diligently on the production since auditions were held in May.

“Rehearsals started the first day after school got out,” reports Director Chris Renner.

Tickets are $10 at the door.  Performance times are 7 p.m. on July 30 through Aug. 1 and at 2 p.m. on August 2.  For special seating concerns, call Chris at 920-428-0446.
