Clintonville School Board hires new teachers, support staff

Six new employees were hired and three resignations were accepted by the Clintonville School Board Monday, July 28.

Support staff resignations from Margaret Zwirschitz (middle school Para I) and Darla Galland (middle school Para II Aide) were both approved. The board approved the hire of Tammy Zuehl to a 6 ¾ hour per day Food Service III position, effective Aug. 27.

Four teacher hires were also approved, effective with the 2014-15 school year. Kristine Heyer will teach elementary and middle school music and band, while Katlin Jarvis will teach second grade. Heather Heilman has been hired as a 4K teacher, and Brooke von Ruden will serve as a middle school teacher.

The board was also informed that a previously approved hire, Dayton Moenning, has not accepted the district’s contract offer.

Closed Session
The board adjourned into closed session to conduct administrative interviews and discuss personnel items. After returning to open session, the board approved the hire of Eric Ward to the high school Associate Principal/Activities Director position. Former high school Associate Principal/Activities Director Scott Werfal recently was hired as Clintonville Middle School Principal.

The board also approved the recall of Lyle Trautmann to a 100 percent teacher position.

The resignation of Kahlen Spaulding, who had been the district’s director of pupil services, was also approved.

Annual Meeting
The board approved the agenda for the Budget Hearing and Annual Meeting, which is to be held Monday, Aug. 25, beginning with the Budget Hearing at 6:30 p.m. and the Annual Meeting at 6:45 p.m. in the middle school IMC.

Facilities tour
The board will hold the annual tour of district facilities beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18. The tour will begin at the bus garage and will continue to all other district facilities.
