Late score lifts Wolves over Coleman

Ninety-three yards.

That’s all the offense the Manawa Wolves could muster in its second game, but it was enough to hand Coleman a 15-12 nonconference loss Aug. 28 in Manawa.

Kevin Lansin scored from a yard out in the first quarter for Coleman, but Tanner Meyer put the Wolves on the board with a 45-yard fumble recovery later in the quarter and Brandon Radloff connected with Matthew Radloff for the two-point conversion.

Coleman found the end zone in the second quarter on Blake Margis’ 23-yard pass to Josh Pillath for a 12-8 halftime lead.

The Cougars held that lead until there were four minutes left in the game. The Radloffs hooked up for the second time in the game, this one a 41-yard touchdown pass to give Manawa the lead.

Manawa improved to 2-0 on the season with the win and will open Central Wisconsin 8 Conference play at home at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, against Weyauwega-Fremont.
