Burke will strengthen local control

Two years ago, Governor Scott Walker barely survived a historic recall despite the million-plus signatures seeking his removal.

Walker’s re-election is a referendum on his four years as governor. That being the case, the governor’s record both prior to and after the 2012 recall is crystal clear. Whether the issue is good jobs, voting rights, women’s rights, local control, Medicaid expansion or clean water, the governor has chosen to listen to outside interests rather than to the people of Wisconsin.

Gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke will heal the political and economic divisions put in place under Walker these past four years. Burke seeks to honor and support our teachers and our public schools rather than continue Walker’s lack of respect for Wisconsin’s educators, police, firefighters, nurses, veterans and other public sector workers.

Jobs will be Burke’s No. 1 priority.

Burke will unite the state with an economic vision that’s focused on Main Street rather than Wall Street. As governor, Burke will bring openness and transparency while building bridges between local leaders and the state rather than continue the Walker administration’s effort to weaken local control and oversight.

And as governor, Burke will restore this state’s standing as a leader in natural resource conservation. If you hunt, fish, or enjoy Wisconsin’s public lands, parks, lakes and rivers, then Burke is the only true conservation choice.

Mary Burke will restore this state’s once great and proud economic and political standing. Regardless of your political leanings, please vote for Mary Burke so the healing can begin.
