Page, Roger E.

Roger E. Page, age 81 of Clintonville, passed away Thursday morning, September 25, 2014 at the Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. 

Roger was born on April 8, 1933 in Shawano as the son of the late Ernest and Mabel (Bowan) Page. As a young boy he moved with his family to Bear Creek where he attended school and helped his father build and later operate Page’s Mobil. Roger then entered into service for his country, serving in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 – 1955. When he returned home he was united in marriage to Donna Topping on April 9, 1955 in Rhinelander. The couple has since resided in the Clintonville area their entire married life. Roger devoted his life to FWD Seagrave serving in many capacities for 45 years, and retired in 1996. During his retirement he still kept active with Seagrave delivering trucks, and was proud to have delivered one of the trucks to New York following the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Roger was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clintonville where he was active with the Men’s Lenten Breakfast and Ushering. He was also active in the community as a member of the Foreman’s Club which was an offshoot from Seagrave, as well as an assistant Boy Scout Leader. Roger was known as a jack of all trades. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, motorcycling, hunting, fishing, water skiing, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, and watching the Green Bay Packers. Above all, Roger was the rock of his family and a father figure to his many nieces and nephews as well as a grandfather figure to his great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Survivors include: his wife, Donna; brothers: Bill (Darlene) of Leander, TX; Milton (Linda) of Hortonville; and Gerald Page of Menasha; sisters-in-law, Lynn Page of Appleton, and Geri Kuschel of Clintonville. Also 34 nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Janice (Willard) Fletcher, Marilyn (Glen) Wilhelm; a brother, John Page; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbert and Minnie Topping; sisters-in-law, Helen (Earl) Dean and Irene (Lee) Fahrenkrug, and a brother-in-law, Reuben Kuschel. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 24 13th Street, Clintonville with Rev. Keith Wolf officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery also in Clintonville with military honor rites being conducted at the cemetery by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63 and VFW Post #664. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting his family with the arrangements.
