Brad (46) passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 23.
He was born Oct 6, 1967, the son of Phillip and Barbara (Kester) Schlafer, Appleton, grandson of the late Dorothy and Wilmer Schlafer. He graduated Fox Valley Lutheran High School and Northwestern College, Watertown. Nov 10, 1990 he married Tara Thomas. Brad owned Schlafer Financial Services, held leadership roles in the Fox River Valley Assoc of NAIFA Wisconsin, and NAIFA State Political Action Committee. He actively supported FVL and the Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin.
Brad is survived by his wife Tara; children Jonathan, Joshua, and Abigail; his parents Phil and Barb Schlafer; his grandmother Helen Kester Baerwald; father-in-law: Randall Thomas; brother Andrew and Brenda Schlafer; sister: Anna Schlafer; brother-in-law Todd and Stephanie Thomas; sister-in-law Traci and Brian Hegner, nieces, nephews; aunts and uncles Ginny Hinkens, Molly (Bob) Tews, Rodger (Nina) Kester, Nancy Schlafer, and Steve (Brigitte) Schlafer. Brad was a Christian man who lived his faith.
