?From Bourbon Street to Broadway’ features local talent

Local musicians and vocalists will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at Waupaca Middle School.

“From Bourbon Street to Broadway” will feature jazz, pop, show tunes and contemporary music.

The line up of professional performers will include Tom Pease, Marci Beaucoup, Amy Kurylo, Holly Saunders, Dr. Dale Dobbe, the Dixieland Combo and the Bourbon Street Band.

Singer and songwriter Amy Kurylo is one of the featured performers. Her adult contemporary music has been inspired by the works of Harry Connick Jr., Mary Chapin Carpenter, Queen, Heart, Sara Groves, DC Talk and other independent artists.

Kurylo is a contemporary Christian vocalist and performs with the River Cities Jazz Band. She has recently release her new CD, “Child of God.”

Holly Saunders is a professional pianist and vocalist who started performing at the age of 14 and grew to star in the Waupaca Fine Arts Festival and Waupaca Community Theatre shows. She teaching musical theatre and voice at Viterbo University in LaCrosse. She has also directed several large scale musicals.

Dobbe is a singer and guitarist who does a wide variety of music and sing-a-long type songs. He creates a fun atmosphere with music, crowd interaction, humor, and sometimes a little magic! A veteran entertainer of 27 years, he recently performed in Waupaca at Fall-O-Rama and at Rhythm and Brews.

For more than 30 years, Tom Pease has been entertaining children and adults, performing more than 200 programs a year. He will be accompanied by Marci Beaucoup on piano.

Other artists performing throughout the evening are Waupaca’s Greg Biba, Shana Rogney and John Johnson, Justin Zopel, Eric Hendrickson, Dave Davies, Simon Weller, Brian Oberstadt and Rocky Landsverk.

Entertaining before the show and at intermission on piano is Barb and Anna Kirk.

The concert is free and open to the public with donations accepted at the door.

The program will raise funds for the Waupaca Middle School Instrumental and Vocal Music Department and the Waupaca International Cultural Exchange Committee.

Door prizes will also be given at the program.
