Waupaca is heading back to the WIAA football playoffs for the 24th year in a row, the second-longest streak in Wisconsin.
The Comets improved to 5-1 in the Eastern Valley Conference and 5-2 overall Oct. 3 with a 49-6 over Clintonville in the Truckers’ Homecoming game.
Neither team scored in the first quarter, but Waupaca took a 21-6 halftime lead after scoring late in the second quarter.
The Comets added three touchdowns in the third quarter and one in the fourth.
Waupaca will host Little Chute at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, while Clintonville will travel to Berlin.
