Donna Mae “Dollie” Eckholm, age 78, of New London, formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at her residence.
She was born on February 27, 1936 in Medina, daughter of the late Gordon and Mildred (Western) Siebert. Donna graduated from New London High School in 1954. She moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she raised her four children and then returned to New London in 2003 following her retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the First Congregational United Church of Christ in New London. Donna was also a member of the Red Hats Society.
She is survived by her four children: LuAnne (Ken) Kingery, Mesa, Arizona; Suzanne (Bob) Larson, Minneapolis, MN; Mark Eckholm, St. Paul, MN; Marcie (John) DeMaio, Minneapolis, MN; also six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, David (Pat) Siebert, Mosinee; sister-in-law, Barb Siebert, Maryville, MO. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Roger and Earl Siebert.
The funeral service for Donna will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in New London with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Burial will be in South Medina Cemetery. A visitation for Donna will be held directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Mom, you were a caregiver in every sense of the word, you will be dearly missed! Your children.
