Christmas festivities in Clilntonville

“Unlock the Magic” Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Clintonville Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 at 11:30 a.m.

The parade will begin on 5th Street and end on 12th Street. Line-up will be in the parking area behind First National Bank. Call the chamber office at 715-823-4606 to register ahead of time. Entries can just show up on Saturday also. There is no particular order for the line-up. Santa will arrive at the end of the parade, so the chamber requests that entries do not include him.

If the temperature at 9 a.m. is zero or zero with the wind chill, the parade will be cancelled. Call the chamber office or check its Facebook or website.

Cobblestone Inn & Suites along with ThedaCare Physicians-Clintonville will host Santa at Cobblestone following the parade. Santa will appear until 3 p.m. Children will be able to have their picture taken with Santa for a nominal fee.

Children will also be able to decorate a Christmas ornament.

Candy, cookies and hot chocolate will be served and each child will leave with a goodie bag.

A favorite activity is back — the search for the Christmas medallion.

A total of four clues will be given. The clues will be posted in the Clintonville Chamber of Commerce office window at 1 S. Main Street each Monday until the medallion is found. The last clue will be posted on Monday, Dec. 22 if needed.

The person finding the Christmas medallion should return it to the chamber office. The person returning it will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks. Only one prize will be given.

Children are urged to write letters to Santa at the North Pole and to mail them in the North Pole Express mailbox located by the Community Center on the corner of Main and Tenth Streets. For a reply, include a self-addressed stamped envelope by Friday, Dec. 12.

Another returning favorite activity is the lighted Christmas display along the Riverwalk Park behind the Community Center. For more information on the trees or to display a tree, contact Clintonville Boy Scout Troop 28 at 715-460-0958.
